The dirt slowly swallows our buildings, vehicles, machines, waste, and technology. New living structures are spit out. Unearthed hybrids made of human-processed matter.
I pick my eyes from the viscous soil and glare into the atmosphere. I see battling cumulonimbus. The mountains fade, and the land becomes sea and fog.
No sight could’ve configured my pupils to rest upon these new landscapes. The shapes are threatening and razor-sharp, yet they breathe in sync with the rise and fall of my wounded chest.

[10/06/25, 14:59:36] Y: love shouldn’t be just a coping mechanism for dealing with mundane shit
[10/06/25, 14:59:46] A: Right
[10/06/25, 14:59:50] Y: it should be exactly the source of the extraordinary
[10/06/25, 15:00:45] A: Most people just spend their life running and love is just like another way for them to run
[10/06/25, 15:01:51] Y: i hate convenient/comfortable relationships
[10/06/25, 15:02:24] A: Exactly
[10/06/25, 15:02:27] Y: there’s too much life in me for that
[10/06/25, 15:02:38] Y: too much star power
[10/06/25, 15:02:49] A: I thought I had something different 😭
[10/06/25, 15:02:59] Y: not as in fame, as in a burst of light
[10/06/25, 15:03:17] A: But I have learned 3 things at least
[10/06/25, 15:03:49] A: People who don’t grow love comfort
[10/06/25, 15:04:04] A: That’s all they know
[10/06/25, 15:06:15] Y: comfort is an illusion
[10/06/25, 15:06:48] Y: there’s too much collective suffering for our spirits to just rest in this world
[10/06/25, 15:07:06] Y: no matter how many privileges we have
[10/06/25, 15:07:34] Y: there won’t be no peace until the world is healed, because we’re a collective consciousness
[10/06/25, 15:07:51] Y: the earth is a living organism
[10/06/25, 15:08:13] Y: every living creature shares pain at some level
[10/06/25, 15:08:59] Y: there’s no escape from suffering
[10/06/25, 15:10:22] Y: maybe only from its actuality
[10/06/25, 15:10:26] Y: if that makes any sense
[10/06/25, 15:12:53] A: Yes that makes sense
[10/06/25, 15:13:04] A: Life is suffering and life is light
[10/06/25, 15:13:34] A: I would argue that people who run from pain are kind of always in pain u know
[10/06/25, 15:14:12] A: the wound is always open just bandaged maybe
[10/06/25, 15:14:46] Y: yes
[10/06/25, 15:14:55] Y: they don’t know how to process
[10/06/25, 15:15:02] Y: must feel terrible

Notes on the concept of Technosphere
The infrastructures, technological devices, waste, and digital systems make up what contemporary geology calls the Technosphere. The Technosphere is a planetary layer distinct from the biosphere, with its own dynamics of growth. It is the ensemble of structures, tools, and systems developed by humanity to intervene in the natural world. It brings together material objects – factories, cell phones, power grids, oil networks – as well as immaterial elements: laws, algorithms, and subjective patterns of behavior. This global system, in its dynamic whole, weighs approximately 1.1 teratonnes, more than 1,000,000,000,000 (one trillion) kilograms.
The history of the Technosphere is short when compared to the planet’s deep history. Scientists estimate that its significant growth began around 1950, during the period known as the Great Acceleration. This was also when decolonization unfolded across countries once dominated by European imperial powers. The development of formerly colonized nations has also contributed to the climate emergency. Since then, population growth, rising energy consumption, and economic expansion have become some of the main drivers of climate change, accompanied by an overwhelming surge in industrial production: billions of kilograms of steel, millions of cars, plastics, and technofossils.
The Technosphere is therefore not only a system of technological artifacts, but “the stage on which the drama of human agency unfolds on a planetary scale,” as historian Dipesh Chakrabarty writes. From it emerge the creatures and monsters of our age, counter-histories of Nature that appear as mixtures of the living and the dead. These hybrid beings – plastics circulating in animal bodies, data shaping human desires, radioactive waste persisting for thousands of years – form unexpected alliances. From them arise improbable refuges: microbial colonies that metabolize heavy metals, artificial intelligences that recreate extinct ecologies, activist networks that challenge the governance of modern institutions, artist collectives that work actively toward the material and sensorial creation of other worlds.

I remember how exciting it once felt to stare into the night and perceive timelessness. Now it all collapses.

[30/05/25, 05:57:28] Y: what are you studying again?
[30/05/25, 05:57:36] V: you bring me such a bizarre comfort
[30/05/25, 05:57:54] Y: it’s our connection
[30/05/25, 05:57:55] V: for the ENEM exam, and IT
[30/05/25, 05:58:14] Y: you’re gonna crush it
[30/05/25, 05:58:46] Y: but like
[30/05/25, 05:59:07] Y: I’m rooting for the day you won’t even need that to do your thing
[30/05/25, 05:59:17] Y: what’s yours is kept safe
[30/05/25, 05:59:20] Y: here with me
[30/05/25, 05:59:38] Y: in your new era
[30/05/25, 05:59:51] Y: how about that
[30/05/25, 06:00:20] V: that’s a path too
[30/05/25, 06:00:24] V: hahaha
[30/05/25, 06:00:26] V: man
[30/05/25, 06:00:29] V: see what I mean
[30/05/25, 06:00:56] Y: bb
[30/05/25, 06:01:03] Y: u were born for this
[30/05/25, 06:01:15] Y: u know that
[30/05/25, 06:01:27] Y: you’re a star
[30/05/25, 06:01:52] Y: 🤍
[30/05/25, 06:02:41] Y: I don’t want you struggling and humiliating yourself in the system ever
[30/05/25, 06:02:50] Y: let me be real with you
[30/05/25, 06:02:57] Y: the system is collapsing
[30/05/25, 06:03:18] Y: when the system breaks, what endures is counterculture
[30/05/25, 06:03:46] Y: people lose everything
[30/05/25, 06:03:54] Y: jobs, houses, cars
[30/05/25, 06:04:26] Y: but artists, especially the great ones, keep going
[30/05/25, 06:04:55] Y: because the world needs art and culture to heal, to evolve
[30/05/25, 06:05:21] Y: and the guardians of culture are the artists
[30/05/25, 06:05:34] Y: that’s the counterculture movement
[30/05/25, 06:06:43] Y: my goal is to become an artist relevant enough not to lose everything when the system collapses on everyone
[30/05/25, 06:06:46] Y: on the workers
[30/05/25, 06:07:00] Y: I want to keep going and be needed, to have a purpose
[30/05/25, 06:07:05] Y: and protect my people
[30/05/25, 06:07:50] Y: it makes perfect sense for an artist to have 2 jobs, one of them being just to pay the bills
[30/05/25, 06:08:02] Y: but when those jobs cease to exist
[30/05/25, 06:08:37] Y: when the illusion of stability under capitalism is shattered
[30/05/25, 06:08:52] V: wow
[30/05/25, 06:08:53] Y: what’s left for the artist is the ability to survive through artistic expression
[30/05/25, 06:08:55] V: what a perfect vision
[30/05/25, 06:08:59] Y: and they do it
[30/05/25, 06:09:13] V: I’ve seen some actors talking about that
[30/05/25, 06:10:12] Y: that’s why I keep drilling this into you, so you’ll take initiative with it
[...]
[30/05/25, 06:22:23] Y: I feel like holding on to you tight before my career pulls me away from this ground where I can still be here for you
[30/05/25, 06:23:02] Y: and when I get pulled into that vortex, it’ll be fine because we’ll be walking together
[30/05/25, 06:24:27] Y: I’ve never wanted to share this journey with someone as much as I want to share it with you
[30/05/25, 06:24:36] V: you move me
[30/05/25, 06:24:42] V: so intense!!!
[30/05/25, 06:24:44] V: what the hell man
[30/05/25, 06:24:46] V: that’s crazy
[30/05/25, 06:26:38] Y: this is what life is, man
[30/05/25, 06:27:19] Y: it feels so good to feel safe
[30/05/25, 06:27:31] Y: I feel really safe right now
[30/05/25, 06:27:57] Y: I don’t have a job and I’m not making any money here, but
[30/05/25, 06:28:14] Y: I’m about to spend 3 months earning in euros, expanding my world and my network
[30/05/25, 06:28:38] Y: when I get back here I’ll feel even safer
[30/05/25, 06:28:49] Y: but I don’t want all this just for myself
[30/05/25, 06:29:06] Y: I want to pass it on to someone
[30/05/25, 06:29:27] Y: no one deserves to live anxious just to survive
[30/05/25, 06:29:51] V: fascinated by you once again
[30/05/25, 06:29:55] V: and by your lifestyle
[30/05/25, 06:29:59] V: and how well you guide it
[30/05/25, 06:30:02] V: and keep it steady!
[30/05/25, 06:30:13] Y: I wish I could take that anxiety off you so you could experience a bit of this other life
[30/05/25, 06:30:17] V: maybe sometimes you wobble
[30/05/25, 06:30:17] Y: with me!!
[30/05/25, 06:30:23] V: but you never lose your center
[30/05/25, 06:30:24] V: holy shit
[30/05/25, 06:30:44] V: I’m going to experience this still
[30/05/25, 06:30:48] V: I want to
